EL GOBIERNO NEGÓ QUE EL ESTADO PROPONGA DESPENALIZAR EL ABORTO
El funcionario respondió así al pedido formulado ayer por el papa Juan Pablo II, quien exhortó al Ejecutivo a frenar los supuestos intentos para cambiar la legislación en ese controvertido tema. (http://www.clarin.com/diario/hoy/p-00601.htm)
“El gobierno argentino no ha tenido ninguna expresión en favor del aborto o en favor de despenalizar el delito del aborto. Lo que existió es la expresión personal, respetable, de alguien que piensa distinto”, sostuvo el jefe de Gabinete en relación a la postura de Argibay, postulada por Kirchner para ocupar la vacante que dejó Guillermo López en el máximo Tribunal.
El funcionario señaló que “el aborto está penado por la legislación y no existe ningún proyecto de ley, promovido por el Gobierno nacional, que la despenalice”.
En declaraciones a Radio 10, remarcó que “el Estado argentino ha actuado en muchas cosas contra el aborto, por ejemplo en todo lo que tiene que ver con la (ley de) salud reproductiva, que objetivamente supone explicarle a la gente todos los métodos que tienen para no engendrar”.
En ese marco, Fernández apuntó que “jamás el Estado argentino ha promovido el aborto desde la óptica de que el Gobierno suponga la eliminación de una vida”. Opinó que “el aborto de por sí es un hecho traumático, esto lo digo yo y también lo dice Carmen Argibay”.
El funcionario recordó que “Carmen Argibay aspira a ser jueza, no aspira a ser ni diputada ni senadora, no tiene ninguna capacidad para corregir leyes. Tampoco existe ninguna regla constitucional que haga pensar en la inconstitucionalidad de este tipo penal, por lo tanto, la capacidad de Carmen Argibay para derogar la figura del aborto es absolutamente nula”.
