KIRCHNER PROPONE FORMAR UN GRAN BLOQUE SUDAMERICANO
El presidente Néstor Kirchner adelantó hoy en Venezuela que comenzaron las gestiones para estrechar los lazos entre los países de América del Sur, con el fin de tener mayor capacidad negociadora frente a los países europeos y a los organismos internacionales de crédito.
”Estamos trabajando seria y responsablemente para que el Mercosur y el Pacto Andino se extiendan en un gran acuerdo de América del Sur que nos permita definitivamente a los pueblos de América tener una representación en bloque con mayor síntesis operadora de la que tenemos hoy”, dijo el Presidente durante su visita a Caracas para participar en la cumbre del G-15.
El Mercosur y la Comunidad Andina de Naciones (CAN) suscribieron en diciembre un acuerdo de libre comercio. Argentina es uno de los cuatro miembros de Mercosur, un bloque que incluye también a Brasil, cuyo presidente Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva también participó en la cumbre.
Ambos presidentes se reunieron el viernes con el presidente venezolano Hugo Chávez para discutir temas como el fortalecimiento de Mercosur. Venezuela, uno de los integrandes de la Comunidad Andina junto a Colombia, Perú, Ecuador y Bolivia, manifestó su interés en adherirse también al Mercosur.
Kirchner dijo que de ser solicitado, Venezuela tendría las puertas abiertas para unirse a Mercosur, que actualmente está formada por Argentina, Brasil, Paraguay y Uruguay, y tiene como socios a Chile y a Bolivia.
Después de recibir esta mañana a dirigentes de la oposición venezolana que reclaman un referéndum en contra del Gobierno de Hugo Chávez, Kirchner partió de regreso a la Argentina a bordo del Tango 01.
