El mundo de la moda está de luto por el fallecimiento del artista nacido en Florencia.
Roberto Cavalli estuvo casado dos veces y tuvo seis hijos, destacando su última paternidad a los 82 años con su pareja Sandra Nilsson. Su estilo distintivo y extravagante lo llevó a colaborar con marcas internacionales y figuras del espectáculo, como 'H&M', 'Harrods', 'Coca-Cola', las Spice Girls y Shakira.
Nacido el 15 de noviembre de 1940 en Florencia, Italia, en una familia con fuertes raíces artísticas, Cavalli se formó en el Instituto Estatal del Arte de Florencia, especializándose en aplicaciones textiles de la pintura.
En los años 60 fundó su casa de moda, presentando su primera colección en París en 1970. Su estilo extravagante, teatral y excesivo, con estampados llamativos y decoraciones atrevidas, lo hizo destacar en la industria de la moda.
Durante los años 90, la firma Roberto Cavalli se expandió rápidamente, diversificándose en accesorios, perfumes, calzado y decoración.
Cavalli también incursionó en el diseño de interiores con la apertura de boutiques-cafés en Florencia y Milán. En 2007 colaboró con 'H&M' y diseñó para 'Coca-Cola Light', además de crear el vestuario para la gira de regreso de las Spice Girls.
En 2010, diseñó el vestido para la clausura del Mundial de Fútbol de Sudáfrica que lució Shakira.
En 2015, vendió el 90% de su compañía y se retiró de la primera línea de la moda, aunque continuó activo en la industria. En 2019, la firma Roberto Cavalli pasó a manos de un fondo de inversión emiratí. A pesar de momentos turbulentos, Cavalli dejó un legado significativo en el mundo de la moda.
